NCAA Pool Results: Round 1

Roderick Reber the Younger wrote in to say he was sorry he didn’t get a bracket in on time. He was stuck in Salt Lake City, he said. But maybe he was just scared of his dad who leads The Modern Spectator NCAA basketball pool after round one with 33 points. Reber the Elder (champion: OSU) picked 29 out of the 32 games correctly and had four of the five upsets right. Incredibly, he did all this despite picking Penn to beat Texas A&M.

My infant niece is somehow tied for second with Dominic, but I’m not sure we have T-shirts in her size. Then again, I’m her godfather. I’ll get her whatever she wants.

Congratulations go also to Dominic and Mike Riccio for having perfect right sides (East and South regions) of their brackets. They were both also part of the VCU club, who predicted the early demise of Duke – with Sean Murphy, Joey Litman, Brandon Silverstein, and Emily Richards.

Those of you at the bottom, don’t give up hope. They don’t call this March Madness for nothing. Besides, I’m giving out a T-shirt to the person with the lowest score.
